Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy. 54.6% of the population is engaged in agriculture and allied field and India ranks second worldwide. The living of over 500 million people in developing countries depends on fisheries and aquaculture. India bears seventh position in the export of fish in the world and is the fourth largest producer of fish in the world. So, study in this field is the call of the day and hence P.G Institute of Medical Sciences has successfully launched Bachelors’ & Masters’ Degree in Agriculture & in Fishery Science in the year 2022 after being a remarkable contributor in the area of Pharmacy & Paramedical Education.
P. G. Institute of Medical Sciences was established in the year 2017 by Gopsai Avinandan Sangha, a registered society under West Bengal Societies Act XVII, 1961 with an humble intention of serving mankind, specially the economically and socially backward Jongolmohol and enlighten them with the aura of modern day education that opens up multiple arena of jobs and that eventually enhances the overall lifestyle of people.
Agriculture And Fishery Science of PGIMS is affiliated by Vidyasagar University and approved by Higher Education Department, Bikash Bhaban, Govt. of West Bengal.
