P. G. Institute of Medical Sciences was established in the year 2017 by Gopsai Avinandan Sangha, a registered society under West Bengal Societies Act XVII, 1961.Gopsai Avinandan Sangha, since its inception in 2003 has been committed towards spreading education in different fields like, Teacher Education, Engineering, and Healthcare etc. through nine different Educational Institutions as of now. Considering the evolving demand of the society and need of conglomeration of academics and industry, Gopsai Avinandan Sangha has always diversified its wish to spread education in multiple fields. Stepping into the education of Healthcare, primarily into Pharmacy and later in Paramedical & Allied Health Sciences in 2021 are examples of this.
But the journey did not stop there. With the increased demand of new age business studies, Gopsai Avinandan Sangha explored more job oriented courses in form of Management as a discipline Under P.G Institute of Medical Sciences, Bachelor of Hospital Administration and Master in Hospital Administration was commenced in the year 2021 which are affiliated by West Bengal University of Health Sciences and is recognized by Govt. of West Bengal. Further, in the year 2022 two Post graduate courses like Master in Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Finance, HR, Marketing, Insurance & Risk Management, and Retail Management & Safety Management & Master in Hospital Administration (MHA) have been commenced under P.G Institute of Medical Sciences as well.

Exploring new area of job oriented courses has been a social obligation of Gopsai Avinandan Sangha. Hence the fact that Agriculture plays a vital role in India’s economy has not failed to attract our attention. Statistics says 54.6% of the population is engaged in agriculture and allied field and India ranks second worldwide. The living of over 500 million people in developing countries depends on fisheries and aquaculture as well. So, study in this field is the call of the day and hence P.G Institute of Medical Sciences has successfully launched Bachelors’ & Masters’ Degree in Agriculture & in Fishery Science in the year 2022.
B.Pharm and M.Pharm of P.G. Institute of Medical Sciences is approved by AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education), and PCI (Pharmacy Council of India), New Delhi and affiliated to MAKAUT (Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology), West Bengal & Diploma in Pharmacy course is affiliated to WBSCT & VE & SD (West Bengal State Council of Technical and Vocational Education & Skill Development).
All PARAMEDICAL & ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE courses of P.G.Institute of Medical Sciences are recognised by Directorate of Medical Education, Swasthya Bhaban, Govt. of West Bengal and affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences.
AGRICULTURE & FISHERY SCIENCE course is affiliated to affiliated to Vidyasagar University and recognized by Higher Education Department, Bikash Bhaban, Govt. of West Bengal. MANAGEMENT courses are affiliated Vidyasagar University, WBUHS and recognized by Higher Education Department, Bikash Bhaban, Govt. of West Bengal & by Directorate of Medical Education, Swasthya Bhaban, Govt. of West Bengal .
