Overview

The Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry is one of the core department engaged in research related to drug development and discovery. The pioneers of this department were entrenched in synthetic chemistry, phyto-chemistry, pharmacological screening and computer aided drug design which includes molecular docking and QSAR studies. We also offer excellent infrastructure, well equipped laboratories with sophisticated equipments. The department of pharmaceutical chemistry is involved subjects of general chemistry, organic chemistry, pharmaceutical / medicinal chemistry and pharmaceutical analysis for the undergraduate students in the four years B. Pharm. course and two year D. Pharm. course. The department is introducing these fundamental subjects to the students so that a strong foundation is laid at the very beginning. The department of pharmaceutical chemistry at PGIMS is well furnished with the research facility for natural as well as synthetic products.
