ESTABLISHMENT

P. G. Institute of Medical Sciences established in 2017, run & managed by a society namely Gopsai Avinandan Sangha, a registered society under West Bengal Societies Act XXVI, 1961. P.G. Institute of Medical Sciences started D.Pharm & B.Pharm Courses from 2017.

THINKING ABOUT PARAMEDICAL & ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCE COURSES

In modern world, paramedical science has emerged as an important branch of medical science. It is proved as a milestone in the treatment of communicable & non communicable diseases. In other words paramedical science is a backbone for medical science because right diagnosis of any diseases is necessary to prevent fatal diseases. With the advancement in the modes of medical treatment and the risen demand for diagnosis, automation and new life support system, paramedic professionals are high in demand.
Employment opportunity for paramedical professional is increasing day by day not only in India rather in the western countries like USA, Canada, UK, UAE etc. Their role is to help doctor and provide the right diagnosis for disease to enable its best possible treatment.
Paramedical sciences have their own value and significance.
Almost in every primary health centre there are vacancies of pathology technicians, X-ray technicians, Pharmacists, Dental Technician and any other paramedical & Allied Health Science experts. In view of the above, P.G.Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) is taking an initiative to give a great opportunities to the students who are agreed to build their career through Paramedical Courses in the backward district Paschim Medinipur with intending to start some paramedical courses.
All Paramedical & Allied Health Science Courses are recognized by Directorate of Medical Education, Swasthya Bhawan, Govt. of West Bengal and affiliated to The West Bengal University of Health Sciences.

EDUCATIONAL GOAL

The goal of P.G. Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) is to establish & develop world class self reliant institute for imparting Pharmacy, Medical, Paramedical and other Health Science education of several levels of the global competence. It also aims to develop and provide professionally qualified health workers for augmenting the nation’s human resources through Bio-Medico-Socio-epidemiological scientific research.

AIMS & OBJECTIVES

1 To promote, encourage propagate about the Importance of Pharmaceutical Technology, Medical & Para Medical Technology.
2 To educate and train people in Pharmacy , Para Medical & Allied Health Science courses.
3 To provide the adequate training for unemployed youth and to help them for setting up under self employment schemes.
4 To provide primary medical aid in rural area, for the welfare of economically handicapped.
5 To laid down courses of studies and to frame rules and regulations to conduct examination in the field of Para Medical Sciences.
